After the feedback from last week, we made a new color palette. Week 1 was spent updating props to fit the new colors, and tweaking some of the prop topology and scene layout. It began to look much better, however the floor was still difficult to read, and the shop planked area was really still too high contrast. I went in and made a new, custom log, much lighter than that of the supporting beans and floor panels, and it ended up looking quite nice and much easier to read.
On top of the palette update, we decided to change the color of the shell that encased the scene,. by using a lighter moss green on the roof instead of a dark brown, it also helped open the scene up and made it feel much brighter. I also went and replaced the cracks in the flooring with this moss green, to give the room a more overgrown feel and break up all of the bark browns. It looks quite good. With this, the new palette, and the new light sources in the scene, we are ready to begin lighting next week.
